In a new episode of the cryptocurrency adoption journey in Latin America, AQUA wallet is introduced in Argentina, a launch by the JAN3 company.
This company became known because its founder is the cryptographic advisor to the recently re-elected Salvadoran president, Nayib Bukele, and played a key role in planning and implementing that country’s Bitcoin strategy.
AQUA’s proposal is that of a free custody wallet providing access to more economical and private stablecoin transactions within the ecosystem.
AQUA is already available in Argentina. In this country, given the hyperinflationary context (an expected 300% annually or more) and the government’s decision to lower interest rates on interest-bearing balances, even very small investors seek alternatives. Due to the possibility it offers users to dollarize, this product can potentially compete strongly with Ualá or Mercado Libre, which currently monopolize the collection of “interest-bearing deposits.”
However, the company’s goal is to become the main wallet throughout Latin America.
In addition to facilitating the buying and selling of Bitcoin, the platform allows for the acquisition of USDT with a single click, enabling the purchase of the most recognized stablecoin, whose value tracks the US dollar.
In this way, AQUA offers an alternative to quickly, simply, and without quantity or purchase time restrictions dollarize savings. It is only necessary to register and fund the account to start operating, as with any virtual wallet.
